MILLCREEK — A 54-year-old man was hit and killed Wednesday night.

Juan Manuel Puga-Hernandez was crossing 3900 South where the road crosses over I-15 near 300 West. He was crossing near the crest of the overpass where it is dark and there isn't a crosswalk, said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.

Puga-Hernandez was hit by a 26-year-old woman who immediately stopped to render aid, he said. Another motorist also stopped to help, but neither of them had a cellphone.

The woman drove to a nearby business to use a phone to call 911 and then returned to the crash scene, Lohrke said.

Puga-Hernandez was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Lohrke said he did not know of any signs of impairment from the driver who was not cited or arrested.
