PROVO — A BYU football player has been suspended from all team activities following an arrest earlier in the week.

Tight end Josh Weeks, a sophomore, has been suspended from participating with the team after the Show Low, Arizona, native was arrested Monday for violating a stalking injunction, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

Weeks was released Tuesday on $1,943 bail, according to police records.

Under Utah law, violating a stalking injunction is a Class A misdemeanor for first-time offenders.

The former MaxPreps All-American made the move from wide receiver to tight end during spring camp. Weeks, who played in two games as a freshman wide receiver in 2015 following a two-year LDS Church mission to Kennewick, Washington, accounted for 23 yards on three catches against Wagner as a true freshman. He also played in a rout of Fresno State, but did not register a catch.

BYU will conduct its first spring game under new coach Kalani Sitake at 2 p.m. MT Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
