HYRUM, Cache County — A dairy worker died Tuesday evening in an industrial accident, police said.
A 30-year-old man at Rosehill Dairy was operating a tractor when he got caught in the vehicle's equipment while dismounting, Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen said.
The man suffered traumatic injuries to his torso and legs, and died at the scene. He was an employee of Rosehill Dairy, 315 E. 6600 South.
The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m., according to Jensen. He said the tractor was pulling another piece of farming equipment at the time.
The man's name wasn't released Tuesday night, pending notification of family members. He was a resident of Cache County, Jensen said.
The state medical examiner was called to investigate the death.
"This appears to be a tragic, tragic accident," Jensen said. "Probably the hardest part of the job is (giving) a notification to a family member that they've lost a loved one in such a tragic way. … This is just devastating for any family member that has to go through something like this. We feel for the family and wish them the best."
