Polygamy will be under a federal microscope at a Washington hearing.
Today Nevada Senator Harry Reid plans to call for a federal task force to crack down on polygamy. U.S. Attorney Brett Tolman will testify tomorrow before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He is not yet sold on Reid's idea.
Tolman said, "I expect that the information and evidence sharing that has taken place between Texas, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and other states, I think is going to yield prosecution."
Tolman compares polygamous communities to a gang or organized crime: hard to penetrate.
