PROVO — Fans of Ann Romney's new book will get the chance to hear her speak at Brigham Young University Thursday.
Released Tuesday, "In This Together: My Story," follows Romney's journey with multiple sclerosis, which affects more than 2.3 million people around the world. The book covers details of Romney's life, marriage and treatment, including how working through the neurological disease with faith and support has changed her and her family's life, according to BYU.
"I'm thrilled to return to the BYU campus to share my new book with you while supporting research that has the potential to provide new hope for the more than 50 million people worldwide who suffer from multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, ALS, Parkinson's disease, and brain tumors," Romney said in a statement. "With all the blessings I've had, MS has been my greatest teacher: It has taught me about faith, compassion, and serving others. In sharing my story, I want to give others hope as I've been given hope on this journey."
The BYU Store and BYU Women's Services and Resources will sponsor this free event, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Wilkinson Student Center.
Proceeds of the sale of Romney's book will go toward the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
