CLEARFIELD — One man is dead and at least three people were injured after an accident on SR-193.
At about 4:30 p.m., an 18-year-old male driving a Ford F250 was attempting a left turn from Center Street on SR-193 when he hit the back end of a Dodge Dakota going westbound on SR-193, according to Clearfield Police. The Dakota spun out and hit a Nissan Sentra going eastbound on SR-193.
All three occupants of the Sentra were injured and taken to Davis Hospital and Medical Center. The 37-year-old male driver of the car died at the hospital. The details of his injuries were not immediately available.
The passengers — a 34-year-old woman and a 13-year old girl — were treated for "less serious injuries."
The 26-year-old male driver of the Dakota was also taken to the hospital, but the extent of his injuries was not known Tuesday night. It was unclear if the driver of the F250 was injured.
Police said that after "reviewing the witness statements, reconstruction diagram and other evidence, charges may be considered," but no other details were immediately available.
SR-193 was closed for several hours after the accident but was reopened as of 8:30 p.m.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
