PROVO — A day after the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament and with recruiting officially in a dead period, BYU basketball received some good news for the future.
The commitment of Fremont star Dallin Hall.
Hall averaged 22.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game for the Class 6A state champion Silverwolves (23-3) in 2019-20. The three-star point guard from Plain City also had offers from Utah State, Utah, Oregon State, Saint Mary’s and hometown Weber State.
With one press of the 'send tweet' button on his Twitter account, though, he let the world know his plans — and they include BYU head coach Mark Pope and the Cougars.

Hall, who plans to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, joins a recruiting class that also includes Wasatch Academy shooting guard Richie Saunders and Salt Lake Community College sharpshooter Spencer Johnson, an American Fork alum who originally signed with Weber State prior to serving a church mission.
Hall was the top unsigned recruit in the state of Utah, and seventh overall, according to 247 Sports. Of the six players rated above him by the recruiting service, only Sky View’s Mason Falslev (who has signed with Utah) and the Wasatch Academy starting five rated above him.
Saunders ranks third in the state, trailing Wasatch Academy teammates Mady Sissoko (Michigan State) and Caleb Lohner (Utah).
