RICHFIELD — A Teasdale woman died in a rollover crash Sunday after swerving to avoid a deer in the road, officials said.

The crash took place about 5:11 p.m. on state Route 24 near milepost 20, southeast of Richfield, Utah Highway Patrol officials said on the agency’s website. Olivia Clark, 41, died in the crash, officials said.

The woman was driving east on Route 24 when it appears she swerved to the right to avoid a deer in the road. However, she still hit the deer, and the car swerved back to the left, sliding off the road and rolling.

Clark was wearing her seat belt, but had fatal injuries in the crash, UHP officials said. A 2-year-old boy was in a carseat in the back of the car and had only minor injuries.
