MILLCREEK — Police identified a 56-year-old man who died after a vehicle hit him in Millcreek Thursday morning.

Richard Putnam, of Millcreek, was crossing the street at a diagonal from the corner to the bus stop near 3200 East and 3900 South about 6 a.m., according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray. He was wearing all black clothing, and the area is not well-lit, Gray added.

The driver who hit Putnam stayed on scene. Police do not expect any impairment was involved in the crash.

Other details of the incident were not immediately provided.
