SALT LAKE CITY — The Twilight Concert Series is back on for this summer, thanks to a new agreement between the Salt Lake Arts Council Foundation Board and Broadway Media, officials said Wednesday.

Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski's office recommended to the City Council last October that the concert series not be funded for 2018. At the time, city leaders said they wanted to try and rework how the series is planned and funded.

The new, one-year agreement will revive the popular concerts for this year, according to an emailed statement from Biskupski’s office.

Five concerts will be held at the Gallivan Center on Thursdays in August, with some September dates also possible. The tickets will cost $10. The concert lineups will be announced later this spring, according to the Twilight Concerts website.

“Twilight is one of the most beloved public arts programs in the City, and I am so happy we were able to find a way to bring it back for 2018,” Biskupski said in the statement. “This partnership allows the music to go on while we continue to explore ways to strengthen the concert series for future years.”

The concerts in 2018 will be similar to those of previous years. Each show will include one national act and at least one local act, the statement said.

Biskupski, along with several other city officials, held a press conference at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Finch Lane Gallery to discuss the new agreement.
