EUREKA, Juab County — The search continues for two teenagers who law enforcement authorities say have been missing for more than a week.

Family and friends of Brelynne Otteson, 17, and Riley Powell, 18, gathered in the small town of Eureka Tuesday night to plead for any information that could help find the pair.

They also announced a $5,000 reward for anyone who can help bring Otteson and Powell home safe.

"Hopefully, if they're still out there, they know we're praying for them and we want them to come home," said Kelsie Curtis, a friend of the missing teens.

Authorities say Otteson and Powell left Tooele on Dec. 30 but never made it to their destination. The couple had planned to stop in Spanish Fork before going home to Eureka, where both teens live with Powell's grandfather.

"Things like this don't happen every day, and we haven't seen anything like this," said Chelsea Garbett, a friend of the missing teens. "There is no trace of them, so far, and there are no clues where they could be. It's scary."

Family members filed missing persons reports with both the Juab and Tooele county sheriff's offices on Jan. 2, three days after Otteson and Powell were last seen or heard from.

Authorities say the teens were driving a dark blue Jeep Cherokee with license plate number 674VWV. Powell is known to enjoy going exploring off-road, and authorities believe the couple may have gone on a dirt road and become stuck.

Adding to the concern is the fact that Powell's Jeep has more than 200,000 miles on it and the teens have old cellphones that only use Wi-Fi.

If you have any information, you're asked to call the Juab County Sheriff's Office at 435-623-1344, or the Tooele County Sheriff's Office at 435-882-5600.
