SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake woman has been charged with stabbing her neighbor multiple times with a pair of scissors.
Dyann Mariel Hernandez, 23, was charged last week with attempted murder, a first-degree felony. It is the third violent crime she has been accused of in the past year.
On Nov. 15, Hernandez, who had an ongoing dispute with her neighbor, came out of her house in the 800 block of Arapahoe Avenue, walked over to Linton Livingston, who was standing on his porch, and attacked him, according to charging documents.
One neighbor saw Hernandez "strike Mr. Livingston with a looping punching motion," the charges state. Livingston did not get up. When the neighbor went to check on him, he said, "Dyann tried to kill me," before losing consciousness, court records state.
Livingston "suffered 12 stab wounds to the neck and head. Mr. Livingston's spinal cord was damaged and he is currently unable to breathe without medical assistance," according to the charges.
Hernandez, who fled the scene, was arrested three days later during a routine traffic stop. Bail was set at $500,000.

Hernandez was charged for an Oct. 24 incident in which she slapped a 12-year-old girl for allegedly "talking about her son," according to charging documents.
When the girl's mother intervened, Hernandez allegedly choked the woman with both hands.
In December, Hernandez was charged with aggravated robbery after threatening her mother and another man with a knife, according to court documents. The case was later dismissed.
