SALT LAKE CITY — Police are searching for a woman they said stabbed a neighbor in the neck after an apparent argument before fleeing in an SUV early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 820 W. Arapahoe Ave. shortly after 12:20 a.m., according to Salt Lake police detective Robert Ungricht.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground in front of his house being treated by several neighbors for multiple stab wounds. Ungricht said the man was transported to a hospital in serious condition but is expected to survive.
A woman wanted in connection with the stabbing, identified as Dyann Hernandez, 23, fled in a white SUV before authorities arrived, Ungricht said. Witnesses told police that Hernandez and the man, who was not identified, were neighbors and had “an ongoing neighbor dispute.” Ungricht added that led up to the stabbing.
Hernandez was charged in with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, in 3rd District Court Tuesday for a separate case on Oct. 24, according to court documents. Court records also show she has a lengthy criminal history in Utah.
Anyone with any possible information about Hernandez's whereabouts is encouraged to call Salt Lake police at 801-799-3000.
