WASHINGTON TERRACE — A man is recovering in the Ogden Regional Medical Center today after being shot late Thursday night.
At about 10:45 p.m. Thursday, the man arrived at the hospital with a gun wound in his chest. Shortly after arriving, the hospital was put on lockdown while they investigated where the man came from and what the circumstances were around the wound, according to police.
The man was shot about a mile and a half away from the hospital near 4700 South 300 West. Police are still unsure what happened, but the area where the man was shot is a residential neighborhood with small park.
"It was initially unclear where this had happened or if it had happened on hospital property, so they erred on the side of caution," Weber Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said.
The specifics of the man's condition were not available Friday, but Lowther said the man is stable and expected to survive.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, but Lowther said investigators served two search warrants Thursday night and are following up on leads.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the department at 801-395-8221.
