TAYLORSVILLE — Police are asking for information about an "armed and dangerous" man who robbed a convenience store early Tuesday.

About 2:35 a.m., a man entered the 7-Eleven at 3180 W. 5400 South, walked around the store for a few minutes before approaching the clerk, pulling out a two-tone handgun and demanding money, police said.

The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money, and the man and fled on foot, heading northwest. No vehicle was spotted in the robbery, and officers searching the area with K-9 units found no trace of the man, according to police.

The man, described as a white male in his mid-20s, was wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and a dark multicolored hat and carrying a shoulder bag.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 801-743-5843.
