CHICAGO (AP) — Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is out with an upper-body injury and will be re-evaluated next week.

Coach Joel Quenneville says Toews got hurt during Tuesday night's 5-1 loss to Colorado. The Blackhawks were eliminated from playoff contention with the loss to the Avalanche.

Toews has 20 goals and 32 assists in 74 games. After Thursday night's game against Vancouver, the Blackhawks have seven games left on the schedule.

Matthew Highmore is expected to return to the lineup against the Canucks with Toews out. Highmore missed the loss to Colorado with an upper-body injury.
