SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Free agent point guard Ty Lawson has signed with the Sacramento Kings.

The team on Wednesday announced the deal for Lawson, who updated his Twitter account with a photo of himself in a Kings jersey and wrote, "Can't sleep... I'm sooo excited for this season."

He averaged 5.7 points and 3.6 assists while spending last season playing with the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers after spending his first six years with Denver.

In seven NBA seasons, the 28-year-old Lawson has averaged 13.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 29.8 minutes per game.
