THE POTTY — Potty training is rough. There is just no way around it.

My wife and I are currently trying to get our last child potty trained, and it's slowly sucking the life out of me. At this point, I think I'll be sending her to college in Pull-Ups.

But maybe I'm giving up too easily. What I really need to do it adopt this dad's methodology of becoming your kid's poop hype man.

If you're not familiar with what a hype man is, let me explain via my old friend Wikipedia. "A hype man, in hip-hop music and rapping, is a backup rapper and/or singer who supports the primary rappers with exclamations and interjections and attempts to increase the audience's excitement with call-and-response chants."

How does this work when you're trying to get your kid to poop on the potty? Like this.

Joe Bobadilla and his wife, Jenna, were having trouble getting their little guy to go “number two.” So dad got a mic, a headband, and an insane amount of energy and became their son's hype man.

This video is pure gold for so many different reasons. The kid is obviously into it. The dad is also all in, but making sure to let everyone know he's still a dad with his black socks and slippers. Then you've got baby sister sitting in her bouncer wondering what on Earth is going on.

Creative parenting is my favorite parenting (because sometimes it's the only way to get through a day). Way to go, Bobadilla family, for your creativity — and for going number two.
