SALT LAKE CITY — Motorists in Salt Lake City and Ogden should expect delays beginning Tuesday night due to bridge repairs, Utah Department of Transportation officials said.
In Salt Lake City, UDOT is closing the I-15 on-ramps and offramps at 900 South as crews begin to repair a bridge that crosses 300 West in the area. UDOT is advising drivers to use different exits, such as 1300 South or 2100 South during the closure while repairs are made to a bridge over 300 West.
Lane restrictions at night and on the weekends are also scheduled on the ramp from 500 South to I-15 and I-80 as crews work on another project. As many as two lanes will be closed at those times through early September, though the ramp will remain open.
In addition, two westbound lanes of Riverdale Road will also be closed for two days beginning Tuesday night as crews make an unscheduled repair to a bridge that crosses Weber River, Utah Department of Transportation officials said.
The two-lane closure will begin at 10 p.m. and will last until 10 a.m. Thursday. Officials said crews were forced to repair bridge deck joints that had become “uneven and rough.”
Then, a single lane closure westbound will be in effect beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday. This traffic pattern will be repeated over the next several days, with two lane closures on Thursday and Sunday at 10 p.m., followed by daily single lane closures until the work is completed Tuesday, Aug. 1.
UDOT advised motorists who normally take westbound Riverdale Road (state Route 26) to instead use 30th Street to access I-15 or I-84, or areas west of the bridge.
