SALT LAKE CITY — Fire officials continue to battle several active wildfires across the state of Utah.

Monday was a red flag warning day for several parts of southern Utah as hot, dry and windy conditions affected the state.

The scorching weather should continue throughout the week, which is expected to be the hottest week yet this summer for much of Utah. High temperatures will approach 100 degrees in Salt Lake City on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
