A car hit a man who was crossing the street near 400 West and 600 South just before 5 a.m., according to Salt Lake police Sgt. Brandon Shearer.
"It looks like he may have been in the crosswalk but it's unknown if he was crossing with or against the light," Shearer said.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital by ambulance and the driver is cooperating with police.
#UPDATE: I haven’t seen this before. Investigators testing out the possible speeds the car could have been driving by testing out the road’s friction and the car’s braking system. Obviously, Police can only do this when the car is drivable.
