SALT LAKE CITY — Many people have been waiting months for this. The Broadway musical "Hamilton" continues to sell out across the country, and now, it's coming to the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City.

The show runs from April 11-May 6. Tickets go on sale Friday morning, Feb. 9, but what's the best way to make sure you actually get them?

Here's the good news. Bruce Granath with Broadway at the Eccles says there are tens of thousands of tickets available. Still, they'll likely sell out in a couple hours, but with 32 performances to choose from, getting your hands on a pair or two of tickets isn't out of the question if you know what you're doing.

First, make sure you have an ArtTix account at https://artsaltlake.org and check that your username and password are working. Do it before the end of the business day on Thursday, in case you have trouble.

Next, have a strategy. Know exactly which day and which time you want.

"Have it written down so that you're not deciding when you get to the opportunity to buy a ticket," Granath said.

Here's a tip, the last three weeks are more open and you may want to try for a weeknight or a matinee if it works for you.

Finally, tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, but you can get online starting at 9 a.m. and be placed in a virtual waiting room.

More ticket-buying tips:

"The purpose of that waiting room is to give everybody an equal chance," Granath said. "So at 10 a.m., everybody will be scrambled into a random order to give everybody a fair chance at the front of the line."

Granath recommends using a desktop computer. It's faster to enter your information and the internet is more reliable. Also, only use one tab or browser so the system doesn't think you're a ticket bot and kick you off the site.

If you don't get tickets Friday, there's still hope. "Hamilton" holds a ticket drawing before every show, and additional inventory will be released if it becomes available.

Tickets for "Hamilton" will go on sale to the public on Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. MT at arttix.artsaltlake.org. Tickets will also be available at the Eccles Theater Box Office, located at 131 Main St. There is a maximum purchase limit of four tickets per household address, and tickets range from $75 to $165 with a select number of $300 premium seats available for all performances, according to a Broadway Across America media release.
