TAYLORSVILLE — Police are searching for the driver of a silver pickup truck they say struck an 11-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon before fleeing the scene.

Police responded to a report of a child being struck by the pickup truck at the intersection of 6200 South and Margay Drive about 3:35 p.m., Unified police detective Ken Hansen said.

The boy was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in fair condition. The area of the collision has since been cleared.

The driver of the truck then fled the scene, Hansen said. He added police are looking for a silver 2000 Ford F-150, which he described as an extended or crew cab. Police did not give a description of the driver.
