SALT LAKE CITY — June got off to a busy start last week, with Utahns sending in photos of the news they saw happening throughout the state.
We received several photos of a fire that started at Ridgeline Elementary School in Highland early Sunday. The fire caused between $200,000 and $300,000 in damage, and police were investigating illegal fireworks found in the area as a potential cause.
KSL.com readers also submitted photos of a water main break at 12000 S. 1700 East in Sandy Wednesday afternoon. According to Scott Ellis, operations manager for Sandy City Public Utilities, the break was caused by a combination of hot temperatures, high demand and the age of the water main.
As the “100 deadliest days of driving” are underway, be sure to be safe on the roads. We received this photos of a recent car fire on I-15 in Kaysville. No injuries were reported, but you can follow KSL.com on Twitter to be aware of any major traffic delays throughout Utah.
As usual for this time of year, the week also brought all types of weather to the Wasatch Front.
