SALT LAKE CITY — Park City is getting a blanket of snow Monday as a winter storm rolls through the state.
However, the colder part of the storm will take its time reaching lower elevations. The rain is off and on in the Salt Lake Valley, but the snow currently coming down hard in Park City.
Parley's Canyon and the summit on I-80 are also collecting a lot of snow. It's not quite white out conditions, but visibility is poor and cars are sliding off the roads.

The Utah Department of Transportation says to move minor fender benders off the freeways to the nearest exit.

Downtown Park City has gotten about 6 inches of snow and the plows are out in full force. Business owners are happy to see the winter white because it's good for business. Park City Mountain Resort and Brighton Ski Resort both open for the season this weekend.

Utahns along the Wasatch Front should expect Monday morning's rain to turn to snow by the afternoon, with some accumulation on grassy areas and heavier accumulation in the mountains, Uinta Basin, Wasatch Back and valleys of southwest Utah.
