Locals may not feel the need to correct them, preferring to ski with smaller crowds of people who pronounce their resorts "Snow Basun," "Powder Moun'un" and "Wuff Moun'un," but there's room on these massive peaks for everyone.
Snowbasin
Snowbasin burst onto the world stage at the Winter Games in 2002 with high alpine bowls, steep chutes, perfectly groomed cruisers, deep-powder glades and two of the most challenging downhill race courses ever traced on a mountain. Not a bad view up there, either.

Powder Mountain
Their name isn't just a fluffy bit of marketing. If you want endless powder, this your jam. Powder Mountain consistently earns top ratings for value and snow quality in Ski Magazine. The locals call this resort their own private playground, and with over 7,000 acres of skiable terrain, it's North America's largest ski area. The resort offers daily inbound and guided backcountry tours for a really unique experience. Don't wear white or they'll never find you.

Nordic Valley (née Wolf Mountain)
Between Powder Mountain and Snow Basin sits little Nordic Valley, the best learn-to-ski mountain in the Rockies. After a spell as Wolf Mountain, Nordic is re-adopting its old name under new ownership. Here's hoping expansion plans don't interfere with its reign as the most affordable skiing in Utah (They promise it won't.) Also, lighted night skiing and great beginner runs. Note: Nordic Valley hasn't received as much snow at the other resorts listed here. Skiing conditions may not be as favorable due to warm temperatures.
