SALT LAKE CITY — Fire marshals on the University of Utah campus are cleaning up this morning after a gas line burst.

The line broke Thursday afternoon between two of the residence halls.

Officials decided to evacuate the buildings and surrounding areas overnight, displacing nearly 130 residents. Those evacuated went to friends' houses or were put up by the school.

Questar worked on the problem throughout the night and no one was hurt. Officials are still working to determine what caused the break.

The gas leak near the two student housing buildings has been fixed and students were cleared to return just after 8 a.m. Friday.
