STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — UC Iroegbu hit three 3-pointers and scored 17 points and Stony Brook defeated New Hampshire 72-63 on Sunday to split the season series and join the Wildcats in fifth place in the America East Conference.

Junior Saintel added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Seawolves (11-17, 6-8), who avenged a two-point loss to New Hampshire on Jan. 21.

Tanner Leissner scored 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting for the Wildcats (10-18, 6-8), who have lost three straight.

New Hampshire built a 10-point lead after a Leissner bucket with 15:45 left but was outscored 23-11 over the next 11 minutes with Saintel and Akwasi Yeboah leading the way five points each. Iroegbu then added seven points in a 12-2 run for a 70-58 bulge with 53 seconds left.

Stony Brook scored 19 points off 19 turnovers as the Seawolves made 12 steals.
