Laksa, Jespersen lead No. 22 USF to 77-68 OT win over UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Kitija Laksa scored 32 points, Maria Jespersen had a double-double and No. 22 South Florida turned back Central Florida 77-68 in overtime on Sunday for a sweep in the War on I-4.

The Bulls (22-5, 11-2 American), who have won seven straight, overcame a late turnover in regulation and gained control in overtime with key 3-pointers from Jespersen and Laia Flores. USF then made 7 of 8 free throws in the last 64 seconds.

Laksa hit five 3-pointers and was 9 for 9 from the line while Jespersen had 21 points and 15 rebounds for her league-leading 15th double-double and went 9 of 11 from the line.

Zakiya Saunders had a career-high 31 points for UCF (17-9, 9-4).

Saunders hit a 3 from the right wing to tie the game at 64 with 10.8 seconds left in regulation but missed a floater in the lane at the buzzer following a USF turnover on the inbounds pass.
