BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Andrew Brown scored 20 points with seven rebounds and led five players in double-figure scoring and Furman beat Samford 94-79 on Saturday.
Brown was 8 of 11 from the field including four from distance for the Paladins (19-9, 10-5 Southern Conference) who have won three straight. Devin Sibley added 17 points and seven rebounds, John Davis III had 14 points and five assists and Matt Rafferty and Daniel Fowler added 12 points apiece. Rafferty led the team with 10 rebounds.
Fowler hit a 3-pointer to start the game and the Paladins never trailed on their way to a 51-33 advantage at halftime.
Fowler drained a 3 and a jumper back-to-back and Rafferty followed with a layup to open the second half and push Furman's lead to 58-38. Samford cut it to 63-54 on a layup by Triston Chambers with 14:07 to go but could not get closer and Furman led by double figures the rest of the way.
Demetrius Denzel-Dyson scored 25 points for the Bulldogs (9-20, 5-11). Chambers finished with 15.
