ATLANTA (AP) — Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen has claimed the Chuck Bednarik Award as the top defensive player in college football.
The other finalists Thursday night were Myles Garrett of Texas A&M and Jabrill Peppers of Michigan.
Allen became the first player from Alabama to win the Bednarik Award. He already won another award as the nation's best defensive player, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
