OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Texas scored nine runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally from five down and defeat Oklahoma State 12-8 at the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Friday night.
The win sends the Longhorns (24-31) into a Saturday matchup with TCU, while the second-seeded Cowboys (36-20) are eliminated after allowing nine runs in the eighth inning of an eventual defeat for the second straight day.
Bret Boswell was 2-for-3 for Texas and had an RBI single in the nine-run eighth inning to put the Longhorns up 10-8. Kody Clemens then added an RBI triple to complete the dramatic comeback and put Texas up 12-8.
Beau Ridgeway (3-0) earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief, while Michael Mertz (1-3) took the loss for Oklahoma State.
