SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Gabe Vincent scored 18 first-half points with four 3-pointers and UC Santa Barbara held on to beat San Francisco 68-61 on Wednesday night after leading by 25 at halftime.

Trailing 45-20, San Francisco scored 15 unanswered points to pull within 60-51 on back-to-back 3s and a layup by Devin Watson with 3:30 left, but got no closer.

Vincent nearly outscored the Dons by himself in the first half and the Gauchos never trailed. San Francisco missed all seven of its 3-point tries and shot just 23 percent from the field before intermission.

Michael Bryson scored 15 points, Mitch Brewe added 12 and the Gauchos (2-2) made 13 of 15 free throws and scored 16 points off of 13 San Francisco turnovers.

Tim Derksen led the Dons (3-2) with 21 points and Watson finished with 17 on 6-of-15 shooting.
