BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho's unemployment rate remained at a seven-year low of 3.8 percent in April.
But the Idaho Department of Labor on Friday said the number of employed people in the state increased slightly by 4,000 to set a total employment record for the state of 761,000.
The agency says the number of working-age adults with jobs or looking for jobs rose to 63.7 percent.
Officials say that's the highest level since 2013 and a sign of increased optimism about job prospects.
The agency says a healthy housing market and a natural seasonal increase pushed construction jobs up 7.6 percent from what they were a year ago.
Nationally, unemployment dropped to 5.4 percent during April.
