SALT LAKE CITY — Items stolen from a construction site were recovered Tuesday after workers noticed them in the window of a nearby home, police say.

Sunday and Monday night, items went missing from a construction site near 700 South and 900 West, including distinctly colored blue foam, according to police. Tuesday morning around 7, construction workers waved over officers who were in the area, saying they believed items that had gone missing from the site were in a nearby residence.

Officers made contact with the residents of the home and found stolen tools and other items from the construction site inside, according to Salt Lake police detective Cody Lougy.

A youth was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and is being held in juvenile detention.
