BRIGHAM CITY — Concern is growing for police in Brigham City who are trying to track down a man who may be attempting to lure young children.

One mother said the man showed up in front of her home twice in the same day.

Despite multiple claims on Facebook of people seeing the man, only one woman has talked with detectives, a fact that is frustrating police.

Nicole — she asked that KSL not use her last name — said that when she saw a white male in his 40s or 50s walking down the street Saturday, she didn't think much of it.

However, later that day, Nicole said she spotted the man standing in the family driveway, talking with her 4-year-old daughter. As she walked out to investigate, she said the man took off on foot.

"When I got to my daughter, she was yelling at him, 'So am I going with you?' and that concerned me," Nicole said. "I asked 'What did you just say?' "

By then, the man was down the street after briskly walking away.

"She said that he told her that he loved her, and then that was about it," Nicole said. "She got really frustrated and started crying because, you know, she knows not to talk to strangers, and she was talking to a stranger."

Nicole hasn't seen the man since. She said she went to the police hoping that other parents would become aware and more vigilant in case he turns up again elsewhere.

"Yeah, he didn't take my daughter, but I think he had every intention to take her," Nicole said.

Police said the man was parked in a maroon extended-cab pickup. He had short brown hair and wore a baseball cap. Anyone with information should contact the Brigham City Police.
