ROY — A man who has worked for the Boy Scouts of America was arrested after police linked him to child pornography.

Bruce Rex Carter, 49, was booked into Weber County Jail on Thursday and charged Friday in 2nd District Court with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, both second-degree felonies.

Tips to an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to the discovery of child pornography being uploaded to a SkyDrive account from an online address linking back to the Trapper Trails Council in Utah and Carter's email address, according to court documents.

The account contained two folders with child pornography, including images of seven identified children being exploited, court documents state.

Further investigation led to a search warrant that was served at Carter's Roy residence Thursday, where Weber County sheriff's deputies located additional evidence of child pornography, Lt. Mark Lowther said.

The warrant was served without issue, and Carter was cooperative, Lowther said.

Carter later told police he received the child pornography through Flickr, a photo-sharing website, including images of a girl who appeared to be younger than 18, court documents state.

Carter previously lived in Layton, and Layton police detectives have assisted in the case, court documents state.
