NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Titans quarterback Jake Locker is missing his second game in three weeks with his injured right thumb, and backup Charlie Whitehurst will start against the winless Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Locker missed a loss at Indianapolis on Sept. 28 with an injured right wrist on his throwing arm, and he hurt his thumb hitting a helmet in last week's 29-28 loss to Cleveland. Whitehurst replaced Locker and had a career day in the loss.

The Titans also scratch running back Shonn Greene (hamstring), tight ends Craig Stevens (thigh) and Taylor Thompson (right knee), cornerbacks Coty Sensabaugh (right knee) and Brandon Ghee and linebacker Akeem Ayers.

Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart already had been declared out with a sprained foot. Rookie Storm Johnson is starting in his place.
