DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Seniors Dante Holmes and Jeremiah Ingram made the most of Senior Day by combining for 43 points as North Carolina Central routed Bethune-Cookman in the second half to post a 90-66 upset Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles built a 38-31 halftime lead and outscored Bethune-Cookman 52-35 over the final 20 minutes.
Ingram scored six points in the first four minutes of the second half and Rashaun Madison hit a pair of 3s as NC Central quickly pushed the lead to 20 points, 53-33 with 16:11 left.
NC Central now owns a 9-4 record all-time against the Wildcats, winning the last seven meetings.
Holmes scored 22 points and hit 5 of 10 from beyond the arc while Ingram scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help pace NC Central (9-15, 3-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Kyle Benton added 15 points.
Ricky Johnson scored 18 points and Mario Moody added 14 for Bethune-Cookman (9-16, 6-5).
