EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Raheem Appleby scored 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting from the field to lead Louisiana Tech to a 58-45 victory over UTEP on Thursday night.

Erik McCree finished with 13 points and six rebounds for Louisiana Tech (11-4, 2-0 Conference USA). Alex Hamilton added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who have won three straight games and four of their last five.

Louisiana Tech dominated the second half, holding UTEP to 12 total points. Overall, the Bulldogs defense held the Miners to just 37.3 percent shooting from the 6 of 16 from 3-point range.

Vince Hunter finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead UTEP (10-5, 2-1). Earvin Morris added nine points off the bench for the Miners.

The score was tied at 33 at the half. The loss for UTEP ends a four game winning streak.
