MUNICH (AP) — Eight countries have submitted bids to host the 2015 European basketball championship that was taken away from Ukraine.
FIBA Europe said Friday it received bids from Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Latvia, Poland and Turkey.
The European body decided in June to move the tournament out of Ukraine because of the conflict in the country.
FIBA says an evaluation commission will visit the countries. A decision on the host will be made in September.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from Sept. 5-20, 2015.
