WASHINGTON CITY, Utah (AP) — A Washington City man has died while out riding his all-terrain vehicle.

The Spectrum of St. George reports that the 23-year-old man was in an area known as the Desert Reserve when the crash occurred Saturday afternoon.

Washington City police spokesman Ed Kantor says the victim somehow drove off a steep embankment.

Another rider on a separate ATV who was with him notified authorities.

First responders pronounced him dead.

Kantor says the man was not wearing a helmet.

His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation.
