Driver arrested after crashing, nearly going off small cliff into traffic

SALT LAKE CITY — The driver of a car was arrested after crashing and almost going off a small cliff in St. George on Thursday. Sgt. Tiffany Mitchell with the St. George Police Department said the driver hit a couple of trees after driving off Tech Ridge Drive, but was okay overall. Mitchell said the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. "Let us remind you that there is no excuse to be drinking, taking prescription drugs that impair you, illegal drugs and then getting behind the wheel," Mitchell said. "There's absolutely no excuse for it. It's preventable and thankfully in this case, no innocent people were hurt and neither was the driver."
