MIDVALE — Two Midvale schools issued a brief shelter in place after a report of an armed individual in the area Tuesday morning, a district spokesman said.

Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the business, Stitched, located at 7343 S. Husky Highway (900 East), Unified police said.

Canyons School District spokesman Jeff Haney said the shelters in place were issued at Hillcrest High School and Jordan Valley School. However, the shelter in place was lifted at both schools about 12:05 p.m. and school resumed as normal, according to a tweet from the Canyons School District.

Details about the robbery were not immediately released.
