SALT LAKE CITY -- The driver of a semi truck involved in a fatal wreck Saturday has been released from the hospital.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports 45-year-old Slobodan Spanovic left University Hospital Saturday night.
Earlier that day, he was driving on Highway 89 near Birdseye in Spanish Fork Canyon when another driver in a pickup truck slammed into him head on.
That driver, 24-year-old Trent Walker, died at the scene. Troopers say he was trying to pass another car at the time of the crash.
Spanovic was flown to the hospital in critical condition but was released around 7 p.m. after being treated for his injuries.
