SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City restaurants say they're holding their own in down economy, but it's not easy.

At the Red Rock Brewing Company at 254 S. 200 West, it's not nearly as busy during lunchtime as it used to be.

"There are not as many people working in offices, and so you don't get as much time to go out for lunch. People watch their budgets a little bit closer," says Mike Brown, Red Rock's marketing manager.

Brown says they're doing OK, though, unlike some restaurants struggling to pay utilities and rent. What he's been most impressed with is tipping.

"Our customers have also been very generous in making sure that our servers are taken care of," Brown says.

He says his restaurant has been staying focused on customer service, making sure the experience is worth the dollars customers bring in.
