SALT LAKE CITY — Three separate fires are under investigation after crews extinguished them in Millcreek on Sunday night and early Monday.

One fire burned four acres after starting around 6 p.m. on Sunday near the Tanner Park Trailhead, according to the Unified Fire Authority.

The city of Millcreek said the fire reached four to five acres by 7:50 p.m. and electricity was also out in the area at that time.

Multiple agencies responded to a second fire that started at about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday at a house near 1990 E. Gregson Ave., according to the Unified Fire Authority.

Unified fire spokesperson Courtney Samuel said crews actively worked to contain the fire in order to keep it from spreading to other structures.

"Crews arrived to find one unit of a two-story multi-dwelling residential structure fully involved in fire," the fire authority said in a Facebook post. "All occupants were able to safely evacuate the home."

A third fire then erupted in a home early Monday at 3:30 a.m., according to the Unified Fire Authority. Everyone inside was safely evacuated and evaluated on scene for possible smoke inhalation. The fire was extinguished after a little over an hour.

"These incidents highlight the dedication and professionalism of our firefighters, who battled multiple fires through the evening and overnight in 100+ degree temperatures with little opportunity for rest," the Unified Fire Authority said in its post.

The post said all three fires were still under investigation.

"We extend our sincere appreciation to all responding firefighters, our mutual aid partners, and our law enforcement partners for their teamwork, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting the Millcreek community," the Unified Fire Authority said.
