EUREKA, Juab County — A wildfire sparked overnight Saturday in Juab County north of Eureka and exploded to more than 4,700 acres by the following afternoon, officials said.
The blaze has burned into portions of Juab, Utah and Tooele counties. Forestry, Fire and State Lands said the fire started on private lands but has since spread to Bureau of Land Management land, and is threatening numerous structures in Broad Canyon.
Multiple fire crews are battling the human-caused fire on the ground and by air, with more on their way.

The smoke from the new wildfire, dubbed the Iron Fire, and smoke from the Sawmill Fire burning in Iron County, are blanketing much of Utah's skies with a hazy layer of smoke, state fire officials noted. Smoke from wildfires in Nevada and Arizona has also drifted into Utah to create poor air quality.
