ROY — Police identified the victim of a deadly Roy crash involving a car, semitruck and a trailer on Thursday as a 25-year-old man from Idaho.

Officers were called to the crash near 4750 S. 1900 West about 5:35 p.m., said Roy Police Sgt. Josh Taylor.

According to investigators, preliminary information indicates that a gold Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed before colliding with a semitruck and trailer, police said in an update Friday.

The driver of the Accord, identified by police as Jack Hemseri, of Eagle, Idaho, was killed. One other person involved the crash was extricated from their vehicle before being taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening. The driver of the semi was not injured, according to police.

An investigation remains ongoing and is being led by the Weber Metro Crash Team.
