APPLE VALLEY, Washington County — Four people were hospitalized after a crash involving two vehicles and a semitruck occurred along state Route 59 southeast of Hurricane near Apple Valley on Monday.
"A westbound freightliner, semi with a flatbed, ran into the back of a Honda Civic when the Honda slowed suddenly. That pushed the Honda into eastbound lanes and it hit a Mazda passenger car head on," Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cam Roden said.
Crews from the Hurricane Valley Fire Department responded to the crash around 2:30 p.m. along with crews from Hildale and Apple Valley, according to a Facebook post from the fire department.
The driver of the semitruck was not injured. Roden said that the two individuals in the Honda were transported to a hospital in fair condition, while the individuals in the Mazda were transported to a hospital in serious and fair condition, respectively.
One person had to be extricated from a vehicle, the post said.
